Each time, he framed the interaction in the language of his own legend, and each time, the person in question interpreted it as confirmation of a truth they had long suspected.

The internal hierarchy is deceptively simple. Cid sits at the apex as the "Eminence," the one who sees the whole board. The six members are ranked by Greek-letter designations—Alpha through Zeta—that denote their functional roles rather than strict seniority. Ciel, as Alpha, often serves as the closest confidante and the one who bridges Cid's grand pronouncements with practical execution.
